Within the European Union, electrical and mechanical machinery operated in explosive atmospheres must comply with the ATEX (ATmospheres EXplosibles) directive, ATEX 95 Directive 94/9/EC.

HazCool hazardous area cooling systems are designed to meet all of the requirements of the ATEX Regulations for hazardous areas and are manufactured under a certified ISO 9001:2000 Quality System. Where compliance with the ATEX Directive is not required HazCool explosion proof equipment can be designed and certified to meet other client specified standards.

Hazcool explosion proof HVAC & Refrigeration units can be constructed in a variety of materials to meet specific client and environmental conditions, thereby ensuring that the equipment offered is fit for purpose and matched to the specific application required.

HazCool equipment can be supplied to operate as either 'stand-alone' units, or as part of a larger HVAC & Refrigeration system. Accordingly, where required, we are able to design, supply, install and commission complete 'turnkey packages' to include complementary system components such as hazardous area fans, dampers, controls, filters and associated ductwork and components.

With experience in providing explosion proof equipment within the UKCS and international markets for Zone 1 (ATEX Category 2) & Zone 2 (ATEX Category 3) areas HazCool systems can benefit the following onshore and offshore industries:
